Friday, September 5
Upon arrival at Naples Airport, we’ll greet you with arranged ground transportation to Castel Morrone. Once you've settled into your charming hotel, the weekend officially begins with a warm welcome dinner and a wine tasting at the historic Il Frantoio Ducale. The perfect setting to unwind and connect with fellow travelers. -
Saturday, September 6
We’ll start with breakfast at the hotel before heading to the vibrant flea and food markets of Caserta. You’ll have time to treasure-hunt vintage finds and select ingredients for our lunch. Back in Castel Morrone, we’ll cook alongside a local resident in their home. The afternoon is yours to relax before we come together again in the evening for the town’s traditional festival—an authentic celebration of local culture. -
Sunday, September 7
After breakfast, we’ll take a leisurely hike to Monte Castello, Castel Morrone’s ancient fortress. Enjoy a picnic lunch with panoramic views and pick fresh prickly pears along the way. After your afternoon siesta, we’ll explore a nearby medieval village and return to the castle at nightfall for an enchanting tour under the stars, learning about the area’s rich ancestral heritage. -
Monday, September 8
Our final morning begins with breakfast before a visit to a local buffalo farm and mozzarella factory. We’ll bring back fresh mozzarella to enjoy during a farewell lunch hosted in a local home. After lunch, transportation will be arranged for your return to Naples, hearts and bellies full.

I’ll be co-hosting the retreat with my cousin Anna, a lifelong resident of Castel Morrone and an expert on its history, people, and culture.
In 2023, after being laid off, I traveled to the town where my grandfather was born—and where my last name comes from to immerse myself in the food culture of my Italian heritage. It was when Anna welcomed me into her home and kitchen, experiencing a way of life deeply rooted in tradition and family, that was so transformational for me that I want to share it with you too! Together, Anna and I welcome you to come and stay in Castel Morrone so you too can live like a local and feel like family.
